Before you connect

• A Don account with an active subscription or trial.
• The latest Don app on your iPhone, signed in to that account. You approve every connection in Don.
• A Claude or ChatGPT account that supports custom connections. Workspace owners may need to enable access.

You start in your assistant, then open Don on your iPhone to choose accounts and permissions. On a computer, scan the approval page’s QR code with your iPhone camera, then tap Open Don on the page that opens. Return to the original browser page to finish.

01 · Claude

Connect Don to Claude

Don is not yet listed in Claude’s directory. Use this custom connector setup.

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Choose + → Add custom connector.
2. Name it Don and enter the server URL above. Claude registers itself with Don automatically, so leave Advanced settings empty. Only if Claude asks for one, enter the OAuth client ID above and leave the client secret blank.
3. Add the connector, then choose Connect. Open Don using the approval page’s button or QR code.
4. Review the assistant, select the accounts and optional permissions to share, and approve in Don. Keep the original browser page open until it returns you to Claude.
5. Enable Don for your conversation from the chat’s + → Connectors menu.

02 · ChatGPT

Connect Don to ChatGPT

Don is not yet listed in ChatGPT’s directory. Use this custom app setup.

1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode. Availability depends on your plan and workspace settings.
2. Open Plugins, select +, name it Don, and enter the server URL above with OAuth authentication. ChatGPT registers itself with Don automatically. Only if it asks for a client ID, use the one above and leave the client secret blank. Create the plugin.
3. Under Personal plugins, open Don and select + to install it.
4. Continue to Don’s approval page. Open Don on your iPhone, choose what to share, and approve. Keep the original browser page open to finish setup.
5. Start a new chat and type @Don to use it. A chat opened before you connected will not see Don’s tools.

Choose what you share

Your assistant cannot move money, edit transactions, or change your Don records. Bank login credentials and transaction notes are never shared through this connection. Household-shared accounts are excluded. Summaries keep currencies separate and show pending transactions separately from posted activity.

Information you choose to share is sent to the assistant provider and handled under its privacy and retention policies. Disconnecting stops new access; it does not erase information already shared.

Stay in control

Open Don → Settings → AI connections to review or disconnect an assistant. Disconnecting an assistant ends all of its Don connection sessions. Access expires after 30 days; connect again to renew it.

Your assistant can only answer from the accounts and permissions you shared. If approval expires, start a new connection from your assistant.
